Advancing Women's Heart Health Across Canada

The Alpha Phi Foundation Canada Women's Heart Health Grant supports innovative research and community initiatives that improve the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, education, and awareness of cardiovascular disease affecting women.

Recognizing that heart disease continues to be one of the leading health concerns for women, this grant invests in projects that generate meaningful impact through scientific discovery, education, and community engagement.

Through this program, Alpha Phi Foundation Canada is proud to support organizations working to improve women's cardiovascular health and outcomes across Canada.

About the Grant

Clinical Research Grant

Supports traditional scientific and clinical research projects that contribute to the understanding, prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of women's heart health.

Eligible projects may include:

  • Basic or bench research
  • Pre-clinical research
  • Translational research
  • Clinical research

Grant Amount

$5,000–$15,000*

Eligible applicants include:

  • Hospitals
  • Universities and post-secondary institutions
  • Research programs operated by an eligible institution or organization

Applicants must also:

  • Be a qualified donee under the Income Tax Act (Canada) with a valid charitable registration number or other recognized qualified donee status.
  • Propose a project that directly advances women's heart health through clinical, translational, pre-clinical, or basic research.

*Grant amounts are provided as estimated funding ranges and are subject to change based on available funding and the Foundation's discretion.

Community Impact Grant

Supports programs that improve women's heart health through education, outreach, prevention, or community-based initiatives.

Projects may focus on:

  • Public education
  • Community engagement
  • Prevention programming
  • Awareness campaigns
  • Health promotion initiatives

Grant Amount

$5,000–$10,000*

Eligible applicants include:

  • Hospitals
  • Universities and post-secondary institutions
  • Community organizations

Applicants must also:

  • Be a qualified donee under the Income Tax Act (Canada) with a valid charitable registration number or other recognized qualified donee status.
  • Propose a project that directly advances women's heart health through education, prevention, awareness, or community programming.
